It was a dark and stormy night with a 60% chance of freezing rain and/or snow here in my corner of Florida.  Mum was in the living room watching her Longhorns lose a national title.  I was in my bedroom watching something altogether more heartbreaking.

I had always envisioned some teeth-grindingly awful scene with Sylvester McCoy in a fluffy wig trying to chat with Mel while doing his best to look taller than he is, then conking his head on the console and bouncing off in some twisted Looney Tunes parody of the laws of physics.
